ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, School of Education

The School of Education at Point Park University is seeking applicants for a full-time position in Educational Leadership. This is a full-time, tenure- track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking a professional with strong experience in high level leadership, as well as experience teaching and working with both undergraduate and graduate students. In particular, special consideration will be given to the candidate that has administrative certification and /or experience serving on and chairing dissertations. The successful candidate will begin no later than the fall of 2019 with the expectation that they will be available during summer terms to continue work on assigned dissertations.

About the Program: The School of Education began its first Ed.D. in Leadership and Administration in 2014. It is a 54-credit program, serving both K-12 educators seeking PA administrative certifications and other mid to upper level leaders in for-profit and non-profit fields. This program is student centered with an emphasis on innovative classroom experiences and research that bridges theory and practice. The program has been an immediate success, attracting far more qualified applicants than it can serve.

Qualifications: Applicants must possess an earned doctorate in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution prior to the start of the 2019-20 academic year. In addition, the successful candidate should have higher education teaching experience. Prior high-level leadership/ administrative experience and work with doctoral candidates is preferred. Willingness to teach on-line, as well as face to face; demonstrated ability to engage in research and publication; the ability to work in a collegial setting with fellow faculty and graduate students; working with diverse populations.
